Back for the Long Weekend
Well, so its been awhile since I last updated I think. The week was rather eventful in its own regards, in that it was technically the first week of school. I really diggin my chem and econ class right now. My econ teacher K.C. Fung....is simply...AMAZING...one of the best instructors I've had in my academic career, and the same goes for my chem teacher, she is simply awesome and can be goofy at times. However, I am really not diggin my calc class :P...I HATE CALCULUS ESP. INTEGRALS...I'm not getting it right now, but I will eventually. So this weekend started rather uneventfully, by having the fire alarm go off at 4am Monday morning. Apparently the trashcan in the bathroom on our floor was on fire, so we all had to evacuate the building. We waited outside in the cold for about an hour before it was safe to go back in. This was bad cause I had class in 2 hrs so that day just to put it very plainly was TERRIBLE. Rest of the week got better though somewhat. Classes are a little more fun with familiar faces in the crowd as well as friends. The las couple days I've been working out, and additionally starting on lower body workout since I want to get faster and jump higher. We'll see how that goes, normally I give up after a week, but we'll see how this one goes. I plan to do 15 min workouts of different lower body machines to hopefully keep me from getting bored. Well other than that, there hasn't been much going on. So yeah.

Physical Day
So basically last night, my friend wanted to go watch Gran Tarino directed, produced, acted, and music apparently by Clint Eastwood. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much watching this movie, I thought I was gonna sleep through parts of it. Boy was I wrong. I know this doesn't sound like much as of right now, but I seriously think Gran Tarino is going to be the best movie of 2009. Now I know we are like 10 days into January right now, but it is seriously gonna be hard to top Gran Tarino right now, I mean I think it beats all the 2008 ones I watched...and that was a lot. Gran Tarino basically circulates around an old war vet from the Korean War who is very cold to the outside world. As a quote from the movie would quaintly explain Walt (the main character) knows more about death than he knows about life. Think about it, its actually quite deep and a huge theme with Walt in the movie as he tries to open up and live life a little more. The movie was hilarious at times too, playing on various stereotypes mainly about race. Basically I would HIGHLY recommend watching this movie as it has "evoked all the emotion out of me"
Anyways right now, my friend and dorm neighbor is currently in the E.R. for food poisoning, apparently he ate a chicken quesadilla that was tainted with :P, so I only hope for the best for him and a speedy recovery so he can come back soon. It was quite disheartening to seem him in that state, since he normally is always cheerful and ready to have fun.
So today I woke up close to 11am hehe its good to sleep in, so my friend asked me if i wanted to ball, and I was like sure, need the exercise anyways. Ended up going around 1:30am to college 8 with two other friends from the top floor of my building. Waited for the bus forever, when we got there I had my lunch/breakfast. We went to the courts and there were hella people there. I honestly dont know why there are only three outdoors courts in UCSC, then two big indoor courts and two small indoor courts. Thats just flat out embarrassing. Well we got our chance, we lost our first game, but ended up winning our next two games that were half court games. Its good to finally get back somewhat into game shape for pick up games. I played horribly the first game back in SC. I think I only got a block in that game, nothing else :P. This time around was better, still need to get into game shape again though. So the sunset at College 8 was quite breathtaking, I think I could sit there for a long time just watching the sunset. So we ended up eating dinner at College 8 as well, since we got tired of waiting, then proceeded to walk up back to our college. So basically I'm really tired right now, probably go work out tomorrow. That's it for now.

Slow Day
So today my sections were cancelled which was probably a good thing, really lethargic day in my opinion :P. Anyways, woke up around 10:30 which would be a godsend now a days, had to do laundry, went to eat, then messed around a lot, watching tv, surfing the net and what not. My roommates friends came over from SJSU, and I just saw them off a 2 hours ago. Went to the dining hall just now at College 8, still probably has the best cafeteria food on campus in my opinion. Well just a quick update, now is probably the only time I have all quarter where I have spare time to do stuff outside weekends so yeah. Boring day but I wouldn't say it was a bad day.

Start of Winter Quarter 09
So today was basically the first day of the quarter, I don't really have any classes on Tuesday, except for one discussion which is cancelled this week. I got back yesterday which in my opinion was too soon :P, I thought we should have had a day to get back into it and start on Wednesday, but its all good. So I unpacked yesterday and put up a few decoration around not too much though, met a lot of old faces yesterday. O and then I went to ball outdoors with one of my friend, it was wet out, so kept missing everything, namely the bank shots, since the ball would slip off the backboard, which was all wet. Then today, I went to work out around noon and was planning on going downtown to get some supplies, but I was too lazy and didn't feel like it :P. So I spent the day watching TV and napping. I got Chem tomorrow morning at 8am so thats not gonna be fun. *sigh* I'm already missing winter break right now and my old comfy bed back at home, but all good things do come to an end, so I need to lock down and study up for this quarter and do well. Anyways gonna sleep soon, so I can wake up to my alarm, just a quick update from SC.

Last Day of Break
Well first off HAPPY NEW YEARS 2009!! well its my last day here in SJ...and I spent with some of my friends, which was a good way to end a good break. Today started off with two of my friends from Morgan Hill coming over to our house, we always mess with each other so its always fun when they come over. We then headed to the Y to play some ball, where we met up with my other friend whom I've known since kindergarten I think. We lost :( all by 1....its was a bummer. Anyways we were there for about 2 hrs, but we had to leave, cause my friends flight to SD was in an hour so he had to get back home quick, and I had to rush over to my friends b-day party. My friends party was alright, I didn't really know a couple of the people there since they went to SJSU or went to St. Lawrence together, but it was all good. I had a good time there. Haha the food was definitely good lol. Yeah, so I head back to Santa Cruz tomorrow, I'm kinda bummed and at the same time kinda happy, bummed because I will miss the break and friends, happy that I will go back to dorm life and see my friends at SC again. Anyways, I'll cap things off with a brief highlight of the break, then with a New Year's Resolution XD
Highlights of the Break:
TAIWAN: everything about going back to Taiwan was AWESOME, minus the airplane food :P
Sleeping: In Taiwan I didn't get too much sleep due to time zone differences, and coming back was the same for a few days, but oh boy, I think I averaged about 11 hrs of sleep a day. Like at the worst it was 15 hrs and at the best it was 7 hrs. But yeah, lots of sleep over the break
YMCA: Even though I didn't win a single game during this break, it was still good to ball with my old friend, and beat down Wall-E LOL (inside joke)
the Spirit: Movie was good, watching them with my old buds is better, that day we also went to the Y and hanged out at my place
Doing Nothing: Cause if you know me, I'm pretty good at doing nothing :)
Friends Birthday: Yeah, good stuff haha really good times today
Carbon: Rekindling my addiction for Need for Speed Carbon was awesome...unlocking a bunch of cars while yet unable to beat the game :P
New Year Resolution:
Get Fit: Meaning eating right and exercising regularly, which includes the most despised running :P
Do well in College: Now that I'm situated into college life, hopefully I'll do better in school too :)
Get a job over break: Looking at Skyhawks right now
Make summer 09 as fun as summer 08: hehe well see how this goes
